Did you miss us? We missed you! Wild Rift News is back for November and we have tons to share with you!
Lots of things are happening this month! Our favorite DJ will be getting an overhaul, Sivir is sprinting onto the Rift, and the Chonccs will be rolling in. We can’t wait for you guys to get your hands on all these new features!
SIVIR, THE BATTLE MISTRESS
Sivir is a renowned bounty hunter from the sandy dunes of Shurima. Armed with her deadly crossblade, she will cut down and outrun all her enemies, giving her much potential to make big waves in the Dragon Lane! We know you guys have been patiently waiting for her and we are super stoked to announce that Sivir will be arriving on the Rift November 24 at 00:01 UTC. We might be biased but her model is as beautiful as it is fierce and we hope you love it as much as we do!
SONA REWORK
Sona will be getting a rework on December 7th at 00:01 UTC. Here are some thoughts from John, the product lead on Wild Rift!
“Sona is meant to be an easy support for players to pick up. Her skills are simple and straightforward. In contrast, her passive is a bit more complex, requiring players to consider which effect is better in different situations. She is relatively weak early and lacks impact in mid and late-game. Her ult while powerful, requires strong teamwork from the other 4 players to truly shine. We think these issues are why she is not as popular as other supports. This rework will hopefully allow her to shine as a popular pick for the Dragon Lane. Her new passive will allow her to be more aggressive in the laning phase, and her new ult will not only look cooler but be much more effective in team fights and skirmishes. We hope you enjoy her new kit as much as we have been! And as always please let us know your thoughts!”
CHONCC’S PARADISE
Never feel alone again! Adorable pets are rolling out to the Rift, ready to tag along into battle with you! You will be able to pick one of four Chonccs to accompany you on your missions. They’re loyal, fun-loving little creatures that will trot along with you through every gank and recall!
Every game, players will see three pets spawn in the pet shop, Choncc’s Paradise: Choncc, Sun Kissed Choncc, Lifeguard Choncc, and Splash Town Choncc. Every day you can pick up one of them and take them with you on your adventures in the Rift.
The pet system is a time-limited feature and won’t interfere with your gameplay. The Chonccs will however cheer fiercely for each and every one of your achievements. So be prepared for very chonccy actions, effects, and emojis!
The Chonccs are here for a fun time, not a long time. So grab them while you can!
UPCOMING SKINS UPDATE
A few months back, we shared that we were in the process of hiring more devs for the Wild Rift team and that we might face some bumps while in the midst of that staffing. Recently, we’ve been working on all the content that we’ll be bringing you for Patch 4.4 and the early patches of 2024. While working on some of the upcoming skin in those patches, we encountered a few production issues.
Due to those issues, we will not be able to deliver the following skins to some servers during Patch 4.4:
- Supreme Cells Akali
- Supreme Cells Darius
- Supreme Cells Samira
We know this is not ideal, but we appreciate your patience and understanding during this transition period so that we can safely avoid late releases like this in the future.
Additionally, some skins that we have coming out in early 2024 will be released on some servers without the unique voice lines. We know how frustrating this is, especially for those of you who look forward to hearing new lines from your favorite champions. Based on these differences, we will release these skins on the impacted servers at a discounted price. For unaffected regions, these skins will still be offered at regular price. We will share in future Wild Rift News which skins are impacted as they are announced.
While at this time we do not have a timeline for when we will be able to fully deliver this content, we'll continue to share updates with you in the coming months as we have them.
