While we only saw three matchups this week, every series had fans on the edge of their seats. G2 Esports took on Acend in a battle for the ages, while Turkey’s BBL and SuperMassive Blaze fought fire with fire across Split and Icebox.
Miss out on any of the action? Or looking to relive it all over again? Here’s our VCT Stage 1 Challengers EMEA Week 4 recap.
Group A: Utter dominance from Team Liquid
Week 4 saw only one of Group A’s matches play out: LDN UTD vs. Team Liquid. Neon returned courtesy of Dom ‘soulcas’ Sulcas, but it was Adil ‘ScreaM’ Benrlitom that made his mark throughout the series.
Popping heads and taking names, the VALORANT icon led his team to victory and swept aside Britain’s finest 2 - 0.
Group B: Acend back in black and looking for blood
Despite a loss to Group B’s undefeated Guild Esports, Acend are back in the competition and looking to regain their spot at the top of the table. Taking down the samurai squad of G2 Esports in a back and forth 2 - 1 series, Mehmet Yağız ‘cNed’ İpek led the 2021 VCT Champions to a victory.
Turkey dominated the entire weekend, as we saw cNed’s countrymen BBL and SuperMassive Blaze battle for the glory in an explosive series. With BBL walking away with the win using the utility of Agents like Skye and Breach, our Turkish squads made this weekend one to remember.
