Week 2 Recap - All of the action from EMEA’s Regional Leagues

May 23, 2022

With the standings seeing major shakeups across the continent, MOUZ, NOM Esports, Karmine Corp, Team Falcons, Geekay Esports, who cars?, Case Esports, and Fire Flux Esports currently reign supreme – for now.

Miss any of the action? Or simply looking to relive a week bursting with upsets? Here’s our recap of Week 2 of EMEA’s Regional Leagues.

VALORANT Regional League DACH: Evolution

MOUZ still sit at the top of the table at the end of Week 2, easily taking down ALTERNATE aTTaX despite them adding Fade to their Agent roster.

DSYRE, on the other hand, didn’t quite have the dominant week fans likely expected. While they demolished CGN Esports on Bind, they suffered a nightmare defeat on Haven, with Fade making a reappearance and shredding through their ranks. While they sit in joint second place, it’s clear that DACH’s teams are determined to make the competition interesting.

VALORANT Regional League East: Surge

Determined to prove their disappointing playoffs run was just a fluke, NOM Esports are back at the top of East: Surge, undefeated once more. Making use of the Fade to take down Diamant Esports and Anonymo Mentos, TENSTAR and Enterprise Esports will be going into Week 3 with fear in their hearts.

Both squads sit in second place, however, making them NOM’s biggest competition. With both teams putting out a dominant showing in Week 2, not dropping a series between them, perhaps they’ll be the ones to end NOM’s reign of terror.

VALORANT Regional League France: Revolution

France: Revolution Stage 2 looks to be a story of newcomers toppling the old guard. Karmine Corp have come out of the gates blazing, sweeping aside WYLDE and beGenius with ease.

MAD Lions also proved that, while they may be new to VALORANT, they’re not to be trifled with. Taking down League of Legends rivals Team Vitality on Icebox, and Valar Morghulis on Split, they’re hot on Karmine Corp’s heels and hungry for victory.

VALORANT Regional League MENA: Resilience

MENA’s Regional League is split into two different sections: GCC & Iraq, and Levant & North Africa.

GCC & Iraq

The Falcons continue to fly high in the skies of GCC & Iraq, taking down fellow frontrunners YaLLa Esports in a back and forth series of maps. They did, however, drop a game to orgless squad Mythoclash, so maybe these young guns will be the fresh blood the tournament needs.

Team Duelist is also hot on their heels, though, clawing back three wins following a close series with vSlash Esports. With their eyes on the top spot, the two squads clash on the first day of Week 3 in a battle for the ages.

Levant & North Africa

It’s safe to say that Geekay Esports are on quite the winning streak, going 8 - 0 over two weeks and only dropping two maps. The squad has proven itself as a dominant force, with Team RA’AD lagging behind by quite a bit.

The second-place team shouldn’t be counted out, though, as they too had a relatively good week, losing to Geekay and Team Majesty, but beating Whitelist and Bravado. With all eyes on Week 3, it’ll be interesting to see if RA’AD can knock their competitors off the top spot.

VALORANT Regional League Northern Europe: Polaris

Who cars? We car! Denmark’s black horse has surged to the top of the leaderboard having taken down H2O in a dominant showing across Fracture and Icebox.

Joining the squad at the top are Finest, who took down British titans EXCEL in a reverse sweep for the ages. Will we see behemoths like EXCEL and Alliance rise up to face these new challengers in Week 3? Right now it’s anyone’s game.

VALORANT Regional League Spain: Rising

While Case Esports suffered their first defeat at the hands of UCAM Tokiers this week, the squad continues to dominate the rest of the region. Annihilating KOI and Herbalife Real Betis, Berkant ‘Wolfen’ Joshkun continues to prove himself as one of the region’s best players.

Showing off his Sentinel skills with Chamber and Killjoy, but also his ability to Initiate fights with the Sova, this wolf isn’t the one being hunted; he’s the hunter.

VALORANT Regional League Turkey: Birlik

Another week, another dominant showing from Fire Flux Esports, Futbolist, and SuperMassive Blaze. With only Futbolist dropping one map of their three map series against Thunderbolts Gaming, Turkey once again has proven just how competitive a region it is.

Coming into Week 3 we’ll see sparks fly between Fire Flux and Futbolist in a showdown for the ages to claim the top spot. Who will win? Only time will tell.
