VCT Stage 2 - Challengers EMEA Week 2: Fnatic are back in black (and orange)

Miss any of Week 2’s action? Or simply looking to relive a weekend filled to bursting with amazing VALORANT? Here’s our recap of Week 2.

Group A: Acend back with a vengeance

Following their somewhat disappointing run in Stage 1, Acend are back and on the hunt in Stage 2, currently sitting at the top of the leaderboard alongside rivals, Fnatic. While the squad dropped one mapto DACH: Evolution Regional League winners, FOKUS, Turkish titan Mehmet Yağız ‘cNed’ İpek was quick to send FOKUS packing with his famous head-popping skills.

Fnatic also had a good weekend, retaining their spot alongside Acend at the top of the leaderboard. Absolutely demolishing OG LDN UTD (who didn’t take a single round off of the British behemoths on Icebox), it was a crushing loss for the relative newcomers, but a dominant victory for Fnatic.

With Week 3 seeing both of the top squads finally facing off, we can expect a weekend characterized by upsets, insane plays, and, of course, some good ol’ trash talk.

Group B: Guild & Liquid reign supreme

While Guild remain at the top end of the group, last place squad, Berlin International Gaming, didn’t make it easy for them, taking them to three maps. Despite their efforts, it simply wasn’t enough, with the meat grinder of chaotic Controller, Jose Luis ‘koldamenta’ Aranguren Herrero proving too much for the German squad.

Team Liquid, however, took down BBL in a clean 2 - 0. While Fracture went to overtime, Split saw the squad take down their foes in style, with Dom ‘soulcas’ Sulcas proving that he can bring home the goods on literally any Agent on the Future Earth roster.

Week 3 sees Guild face Liquid in a battle for the ages, and we can’t wait to see who walks away victorious.
