VCT Stage 2 - Challengers EMEA Week 4: Fnatic & GUILD continue winning streak

Jun 7, 2022

Hot on their heels are FunPlus Phoenix, Team Liquid, and Acend, the latter of whom have shown off the skills that won them the title of Champions during Stage 2.

Looking for a recap of all of the action? We’ve got you covered right here.

Group A: Acend, Fnatic, and FunPlus Phoenix dominate

As has become somewhat expected of them, Fnatic walked away from Week 4 with yet another 2 - 0, only dropping one round throughout the entirety of Stage 2. DACH: Evolution winners, FOKUS, were simply cannon fodder to Nikita ‘Derke’ Sirmitev’s Chamber, falling like dominoes before the Frenchman’s mighty arsenal.

FPX also walked away with a 2 - 0, sweeping aside OG LDN UTD with ease on Bind and Haven. Struggling to deal with FPX’s onslaught, the British squad barely took a round from the EMEA titans, dropping to the leaderboard's bottom end.

Finally, Acend also walked away from this week with smiles on their faces after taking down G2 Esports in a back and forth series. While Berlin’s resident samurai took the game the whole way, they struggled to contain Mehmet Yağız ‘cNed’ İpek, who continues to prove himself as one of the best VALORANT players the world has ever seen.

Group B: GUILD reigns supreme

Over in Group B, GUILD continues to dominate the competition, taking down Turkish squad BBL in a hard-fought series. While they walked away without a loss, BBL certainly made them work for it.

Berlin International Gaming were the ones all eyes flocked to this week, though, as the German giants took down one of VALORANT’s best squads: M3C. Sweeping the former Masters winners aside, Karel ‘Twisten’ Ašenbrener’s insane plays continue to mark him as one to watch.

Liquid has also surged ahead of the competition, landing in second place following their victory over NAVI. While they dropped a round to the now last-place squad, Adil ‘ScreaM’ Benrlitom proved once again why his reputation is so fearsome, popping heads and taking names in style.
