Week 5 Recap - All of the action from EMEA’s Regional Leagues

Jun 13, 2022

As we draw ever closer to each region’s different finals events, the competition continues to heat up, with relative newcomers swooping in and toppling long standing titans, while some iconic orgs continue their reign of VALORANT dominance.

Looking to dive into all of the action from Week 5? Here’s our rundown of all of EMEA’s Regional Leagues.

VALORANT Regional League DACH: Evolution

Another week goes by and DSYRE remains DACH: Evolution’s dominant squad. While they drew with Angry Titans across Breeze and Split, they maintain their spot at the top of the leaderboard – but they had better watch their backs.

MOUZ are hot on their heels looking to oust them from their place on the throne – especially now that it’s clear DSYRE aren’t totally bulletproof. Sweeping aside SPARX Esports with ease, it’ll be interesting to see whether these supposedly timid little creatures wind up snatching first place in Week 6.

VALORANT Regional League East: Surge

NOM Esports’ reign of terror is at an end, replaced by Zero Tenacity who continue to prove their strength. While they fell to TENSTAR after a disappointing performance on Fracture, they easily dispatched Anorthosis Famagusta Esports on Icebox.

Diamant have also risen up the standings, however, replicating their performance early in the tournament by taking down Enterprise Esports and Anorthosis Famagusta. With NOM and Anonymo Mentos in their sights next week, can they continue their winning streak?

VALORANT Regional League France: Revolution

Another week, another insane showing from MAD Lions. Easily taking down Team BDS (who only scored two rounds) and Team Vitality, the real show was their match against Manatory. While the latter squad didn’t make it easy, the meatgrinder that is Domagoj ‘Doma’ Fancev crushed them on the Skye, propelling the squad to the top of the table.

Karmine Corp, Mandatory, and Team Vitality are all looking to take them down, though, so when Karmine Corp and MAD face off next week, the sparks are going to fly and we don’t want to miss it.

VALORANT Regional League MENA: Resilience

MENA’s Regional League is split into two different sections: GCC & Iraq, and Levant & North Africa.

GCC & Iraq

As most fans likely expected, GGC & Iraq’s most dominant squad, Team Falcons, walked away with the crown after taking down YaLLa Esports 2 - 0. While YaLLa didn’t make it easy (taking Falcons to overtime in the final round), the birds of prey will move on to compete in the MENA: Resilience Grand Final with a spring in their step.

Levant & North Africa

As the curtain falls on Levant & North Africa’s finals, XPLDZ and Geekay Esports will progress to the MENA Grand Final, with XPLDZ poised to take home the Resilience trophy. Geekay fought to the bitter end, though, taking one game from the champion squad. As we draw ever closer to the Grand Final, we can’t wait to see who walks away with the crown.

VALORANT Regional League Northern Europe: Polaris

Northern Europe: Polaris continues to prove itself as one of EMEA’s most competitive regions, with four different squads in first place. Who cars? were the only ones to walk away undefeated this week, while Finest and EXCEL both lost a game to Human Tripwires and H2O respectively.

Who cars? remain the region’s dark horse (and now have a very snazzy new logo), but how will they fare against EXCEL next week? As the battle for first place reaches its climax, we can’t wait to see who walks away victorious.

VALORANT Regional League Spain: Rising

Spain: Rising Week 5 kicked off with a catastrophic loss for Rebels Gaming, who failed to take a single round off of second place squad, UCAM Tokiers. Dropping down to third, the team will likely come into Week 6 charged up and ready for battle, making them scarier than ever.

Case Esports also suffered defeat this week, surprisingly at the hands of KOI. Ramses ‘Famsii’ Koivukangas came out of the gate swinging, finally bringing Case down after a back and forth series on Ascent.

VALORANT Regional League Türkyie: Birlik

Continuing to bring the fire to the newly anointed Türkyie: Birlik, SuperMassive Blaze took down rivals Fire Flux Esports in a competitive series across Bind, Split, and Ascent. Having not dropped a single series, they face off against second place team FUT Esports next week in what’s sure to be a battle for the ages.

FUT Esports also had a good week, easily sweeping aside Galatasaray Esports. As the embers ignite between the top two squads, we can’t wait to see what Week 6 brings.
