Week 6 Recap - All of the action from EMEA’s Regional Leagues

Jun 20, 2022

With MENA’s playoffs teams locked in, players will need to wait until July 4 to see the action kick off once again. For the rest of EMEA, though, the cards are far from drawn and there’s still time for some major upsets.

Looking for a recap of all of the action? Here’s our full breakdown of what happened during Week 6 of EMEA’s Regional League tournaments.

VALORANT Regional League DACH: Evolution

We knew Week 6 would shake up the league tables, and boy did it deliver. The week ends with MOUZ, DSYRE, Angry Titans, and Ovation Esports making it into the playoffs, with MOUZ cementing their spot at the top by by taking down SPARX Esports.

DYSRE didn’t quite have the run they expected, losing 2 - 0 to WAVE Esports in a competitive series. They now sit alongside Angry Titans and Ovation Esports in joint second, the former of whom will be taking on MOUZ next week in an attempt to knock them off of the pedestal just before playoffs.

VALORANT Regional League East: Surge

Week 6 saw Zero Tenacity falter for the first time in recent history, falling to Anonymo Mentos during their first series of the week, but making up for their loss by easily sweeping aside Entropiq the day after.

Closing the gap between first and second are Anorthosis Famagusta Esports, Diamant, and TENSTAR, all of whom had relatively strong weeks. Anorthosis, however, stood out in Week 6, taking down Enterprise and TENSTAR to rise up the ladder. There’s no doubt that, following on from this dominant run, the team will be looking to repeat this stellar performance next week.

VALORANT Regional League France: Revolution

Week 6 has come to an end for France: Revolution, and despite their best efforts to topple MAD Lions, Karmine Corp were crushed under the might of Niko ‘polvi’ Polvinen’s Jett, dropping into third place while their rivals ascended to the playoffs.

Hot on their heels are Mandatory and Team Vitality, both of whom also walked away from this week without dropping a game. With the two of them facing off in Week 7’s opening match, as well as Vitality taking on Karmine Corp at the end of next week, it’ll be interesting to see how the standings look as the curtain falls on the group stage.

VALORANT Regional League Northern Europe: Polaris

While EXCEL and Finest continue their reign of dominance this week, the former were put to the test by who cars? during their game on Split. Forced into overtime, the Danish squad didn’t go down without a fight but ultimately dropped to second place.

Week 7 marks the final week of the group stage, where the top two teams will go to playoffs and the bottom squads are given the chop. However, given that who cars? are flanked by Human Tripwires, HEET, and KOVA, there’s the potential for a 4-way tie. At that point, it comes down to how many maps each squad has won and lost, so until then it’s anyone’s game.

VALORANT Regional League Spain: Rising

Following an explosive Week 6, Case Esports, Giants, Rebels Gaming, Arctic, Movistar Riders, and UCAM Tokiers have made it through to the playoffs. Giants surprised everyone by easily taking down Case this week, also defeating KOI and UCAM Tokiers to walk away 3 - 0.

Rebels also had a 3 - 0 week, putting up an especially dominant performance against Movistar Riders, where they only lost 3 rounds. As the title looms just ready for the taking, we know that all of our squads are fired up and ready to fight coming into next week – and we can’t wait to see it!

VALORANT Regional League Türkyie: Birlik

Can anyone extinguish SuperMassive Blaze? After yet another insane showing against second-place squad FUT Esports, the team continues their winning streak, having not dropped a series this entire tournament.

FUT made them work for it, though, forcing a third game after winning in overtime on Bind. Eren ‘Brave’ Kasırga, however, didn’t pull his punches, making use of his depthless Agent pool to bend Raze and KAY/O to his will. While no one has been successful against SuperMassive Blaze, perhaps the last-place squad, Team Lixa, will be the ones to finally take them down. After all, they have nothing to lose.
