VALORANT Challengers NA 2024 Powered by Knights Arena is Back!

In 2024, the VALORANT community is gearing up for the new season of VALORANT Challengers North America season powered by Knights Arena. The 2024 season introduces fresh teams and new players along with returning hopefuls seeking redemption. For the largest region in the Challengers Circuit, 12 North American teams will fight for their chance to join the top teams from Brazil and LATAM at the Americas Ascension Tournament, with goals of promoting to the VCT Americas in 2025, following G2 Esports’ footsteps.

This year the journey will begin on March 19 where teams will progress through a two-stage season, two promotion/relegation events, a Mid Season Cup, concluding with the Challengers Finals.


PARTICIPATING TEAMS

We welcome back 6 core rosters from the 2023 season, and welcome 6 new teams that made their way here through the Open Qualifiers. These 12 teams will be divided into 2 groups of 6, which will remain the same throughout the season.

TOURNAMENT SCHEDULE & FORMAT

Stage 1:

./ March 19 - April 19

./ Each team will play 5 total matches, 1 per week, against each team within their group.

./ Challengers Points will be awarded at the end of the stage, with the same amount for each group.

May Promotion and Relegation:

./ April 30 - May 2 (Premier Teams Only), May 6 - 7 (Premier vs Challengers)

./ One of the 2 chances throughout the season for new teams to qualify into Challengers.

./ 2 teams with the lowest record in Stage 1 vs 2 teams from the Premier system

./ Features a 4 team double-elimination tournament.

./ The Upper and Lower Final winners will be promoted into Challengers for Stage 2.

Mid Season Cup:

./ May 15 - May 19

./ Single elimination tournament for all 12 teams including the newly promoted teams following May Promotion and Relegation.

./ Challenger Points and prizing will be awarded to the top teams.

Stage 2:

./ May 29 - July 11

./ Groups will remain the same in Stage 2, but teams will be playing cross group.

./ Each team will play 6 total matches, 1 per week, against each team of the opposing group.

./ An increased amount of Challenger Points will be awarded at the end of the stage, with the same amount for each group.

./ The top 8 teams in overall Challenger Points throughout the season will qualify for the Challengers Final.

July Promotion and Relegation:

./ July 12 - July 14 (Premier Teams Only), July 15 - July 16 (Premier vs Challengers)

./ 2 teams with the lowest record in Stage 2 and 2 teams from the Premier system

./ Features a 4 team double-elimination tournament.

./ The Upper and Lower Final winners will be promoted into Challengers for 2025.

Challengers Finals:

./ July 22 - July 26 & July 29 - July 31

./ 8 teams double-elimination tournament

./ The 2 teams who advance to the Grand Finals will qualify for the Americas Ascension.

Further details about the Americas Ascension will be announced at a later date.


PATH TO CHALLENGERS

Teams are able to qualify for the May Promotion and Relegation tournament through the Premier system. More information can be found here about requirements and deadlines. The top 8 teams within the Contender division following the end of Episode 8 Act 2 will be entered into a double-elimination tournament to select the top 2 teams that will be competing in the May Promotion and Relegation tournament.
