2024 SEASON DETAILS FOR VERIZON VCT GAME CHANGERS NA x RAIDIANT

Jan 4, 2024

Shopify Rebellion enters 2024 as the reigning VALORANT Game Changers Champions. And as a wise person once said, “If you come at the queens, you best not miss.” It's time to get the squad together to see who can take down the Champs and make it to the Game Changers Championship. Registration for the first open qualifier begins NOW at https://raidiant.gg/gamechangers/.

For the 2024 competitive season, Verizon VCT Game Changers NA welcomes Raidiant as the tournament operator. Raidiant is made for the Game Changers community by the Game Changers community. (And frankly, with sapphiRe involved, who better to run the Raidiant show?). Their dedication and experience in the space provide a deeper understanding of the community, in-game and out.

To meet the competitive needs of the Game Changers players, Raidiant and Verizon VCT Game Changers NA constructed a season with more opportunities to play. There are three Series throughout the year, each with multiple Open Qualifiers, and a Main Event to cap off each Series.

New this year is Premier, VALORANT’s in-client path-to-pro. The Verizon VCT Game Changers NA schedule has been set up to allow for Game Changers players and teams to participate in both Game Changers AND Premier. Deadlines for Premier are fast approaching. Check out this article for more information.

Now, on to the details for 2024 Verizon VCT Game Changers NA. Buckle in, it’s a lot.

FORMAT & CIRCUIT POINTS

Each Series' Open Qualifier format will be GSL into Single Elimination. Once the top 8 teams reach the Series’ Main Event, the format switches to Double Elimination.

The glory of winning is not the only thing teams are vying for during the Series. The accumulation of Circuit Points is critical. There are two sets of Circuit Points: Open Qualifier Circuit Points and Main Event Circuit Points.

Open Qualifier Circuit Points - these are accumulated during a single Series and reset to zero after the Series. Teams that win their Open Qualifier will go directly to the Series' Main Event. The 2nd - 8th Place teams with the most Open Qualifier Circuit Points will advance to the Series' Main Event. Yes, teams can play in more than one Open Qualifier per Series.

Main Event Circuit Points - once a team makes it to a Series' Main Event, they will earn Main Event Circuit Points based on their finish during the tournament. The points earned during a Main Event are what teams need to get to the Game Changers Championship.

North America will send two representatives to the Game Changers Championship. The two teams are determined by:

  • Main Event Circuit Points - after all three Series’ Main Events, the team with the most Main Event Circuit Points will earn one of the NA spots.
  • Series 3’s Main Event Winner - it’s self-explanatory; win Series 3’s Main Event and you’re going to the Game Changers Championship.

Should the team with the most Main Event Circuit Points win Series 3’s Main Event, the second team will be the team with the second highest number of Main Event Circuit Points.

PLAYER ELIGIBILITY VERIFICATION - MANDATORY

VCT Game Changers NA welcomes back AnyKey as the player eligibility verification partner for 2024.

AnyKey continues to be guided by the dual goal of providing a comfortable process for all applicants while ensuring those who participate are who they say they are. Throughout last year, AnyKey gathered extensive feedback on improvements that can be made to enhance overall security measures, fraud protection, and anti-cheat measures. Their system is currently being updated on the backend to make a series of upgrades in those areas.

Given the enhanced system update, all players - new and returning - must participate in player eligibility verification before playing in an open qualifier. This is mandatory and there are no exceptions.

Players can begin to submit their verification applications at the AnyKey site; however, due to system upgrades, AnyKey will not begin processing verifications until January 10.

Players and teams will be able to complete provisional registration for Series 1 Open Qualifiers without valid eligibility certificates; HOWEVER, players and teams must submit valid eligibility certificates by January 14 at 11:59pm PT.

To match the updated security measures, there are additional protocols for players as part of the eligibility verification process:

  • Every applicant must submit a photo or scan of an official, physical photo identification document. Driver’s licenses, state IDs, passports, and school IDs will all be accepted.
  • Official IDs will be primarily used to verify IRL legal names. The gender/sex marker on an official ID does not need to affirm an applicant’s gender.
    • In cases where the official ID is not gender-affirming, applicants can choose to verify their gender identity through the other available methods:
      • Healthcare documentation, or
      • Well-established social media account with clear mentions of gender identity, or
      • Voice chat interview with AnyKey staff.
  • Social media account requirements have been increased:
    • Social media can be used to verify eligibility only if the account(s) are older than 2 years and are set to Public.
    • Players must also be able to provide a direct link to a comment made before January 1, 2023 showing a clear mention of their gender identity.
  • Discord User IDs are now required in addition to Discord usernames, and an applicant’s Discord account must be linked to their Riot ID through the Discord app. This will be checked both by AnyKey and by tournament organizers.
  • Certificates will expire one year from issue date.

Protecting player privacy is paramount to Game Changers NA and AnyKey. Players can be assured that any documentation they upload will be deleted once their application has been processed, and all interviews are private and confidential.

For more information about AnyKey, visit anykey.org and follow them on Twitter/X @anykeyorg.
