Regional League Recap: All finals

DACH: Evolution

While most fans likely expected to see MOUZ make it to the finals, the squad crashed out early at the hands of Ovation eSports and DYSRE. Ovation was quick to follow, dropping into the lower bracket final at the hands of eventual victors, Angry Titans, where internet issues meant they had to forfeit the match to DSYRE.

When finals day arrived Angry Titans showed up and shut down, with DSYRE only taking one round on the initial map, Icebox. While they built up steam on Breeze, they ultimately lost out on Haven, where Angry Titans walked away with a convincing 13-3.

Fábio ‘AFoxx’ Veigas’ Chamber formed the backbone of the team, popping heads and taking names in gold-plated style. With the Regional League finals in their sights, we wouldn’t want to stare down the barrel of AFoxx’s sniper rifle.

East: Surge

East: Surge was one of the most competitive Regional Leagues, with every playoff match coming down to the wire, and the finals themselves quickly becoming a back and forth affair. While Diamant had a slightly wobbly group stage, they came into playoffs swinging, taking down Anorthosis Famagusta Esports and former frontrunners, NOM Esports, on their way to the finals.

Defeated in the Upper Bracket by TENSTAR after an average performance on Fracture and Icebox, they refused to go down without a fight in the final. With the series spanning across five maps, TENSTAR finally sent Diamant packing with a 13-10 victory.

It was hard-fought by both sides, and as the Regional Leagues continue to evolve we can’t wait to see what the future holds for East: Surge.

France: Revolution

While all eyes were on MAD Lions coming into the France: Revolution finals, Team Vitality walked away the victors after a dominant 3-0 in the finals. With Team BDS and beGenius out of the running relatively early, MAD took down Mandatory in an intense five-map series, while Vitality knocked out Karmine Corp.

Unfortunately, MAD’s stellar performance didn’t translate across to the finals. While they looked competitive on the first map, Icebox, they ran out of steam on Breeze and Ascent, unable to handle the might of former FPX star, Kamil ‘baddyG’ Graniczka.

With France: Revolution remaining one of the most star-studded regions, we know that it’ll continue to produce some amazing VALORANT in the future – and we can’t wait to sit back, relax, and enjoy the show.

MENA: Resilience

While Team Falcons’ MENA: Resilience playoffs run likely didn’t start out as planned, the GCC & Iraq squad managed to claw back the win.

Dropping to the lower bracket courtesy of Geekay Esports, they fought through both YaLLa Esports and XPLDZ to face their foes yet again in the finale. While Geekay won 2-0 the first time, they only took one map off of Team Falcons, who utilized Neon and Skye to gain the upper hand.

Back on top and ready to show Alpha Earth whose boss, Team Falcons will be looking to pick off their prey during the Regional League finals.

Northern Europe: Polaris

Another region that features some of esports’ most prominent orgs, Northern Europe: Polaris saw EXCEL and Finest duke it out for the crown, with EXCEL eventually emerging triumphant.

Having easily swept aside KOVA, EXCEL and Finest met for the first time in the Upper Bracket, where EXCEL walked away with a 2-0, and Finest was left to face who cars?. Taking down the Danes 2-0, they again met EXCEL on the battlefield. Snatching one map from the grasp of the British titans, they lost out on Fracture.

With Gilad ‘ALIVE’ Hakim switching between Jett and Chamber to get the upper hand, the squad comes into the Regional Finals with a point to prove.

Spain: Rising

It’s no surprise that Case Esports emerged as Spain: Rising’s victors. Given their dominant performance throughout the group stage, they came into playoffs as favorites, taking down Movistar Riders and Rebels Gaming to secure that finals spot.

They faced off against UCAM Tokiers, who took out fellow frontrunners Giants on their way to the top. Unfortunately, their dream ended in disappointment, as Case quickly swept them aside in a dominant 3-0 showing.

With Spain remaining one of EMEA’s hottest regions (pun entirely intended), we can’t wait to see them bring the fire to the Regional League Finals.

Türkyie: Birlik

Türkyie: Birlik is a story of upsets, with FUT Esports taking home the trophy despite SuperMassive Blaze’s flawless group stage. Taking down the favorites in the semi-finals 3-0, FUT met Fire Flux Esports in the finale.

Going the full five maps and seeing every Agent from Neon to Skye make an appearance, FUT walked away with a well-deserved 3-2 win, with Buğra ‘mojj’ Kiraz popping off on Killjoy and Cypher, laying down traps and watching as his opponents struggled to untangle themselves from his web.

Given they took down the region’s resident powerhouse in style, we know that FUT will be looking to replicate their insane performance coming into the Regional League Finals.
