Riot Games and Getty Images expands partnership.
Esports at Riot Games has built up quite a history. It has been nearly twelve years since the first League of Legends World Championship event took place in 2011. Let’s take a moment to remember what that looked like:

As our esports continue to evolve, we’ve captured and shared tens of thousands of images with fans around the world - and our journey is just beginning. Within the past two years, Riot Games has expanded to include VALORANT and Wild Rift esports.
To continue delivering premium content from our global esports events, we are very excited to announce a partnership expansion with Getty Images.
Getty Images joined Riot Games as the official photography distribution partner of LoL Esports in July 2020. The multi-year partnership will now expand to include the VALORANT Champions Tour and Wild Rift Esports. Through the partnership, we will be able to continue sharing our photography and video to millions of fans around the world.
To support our goals, the partnership will include a new image gallery - the Getty Images Media Manager. This gallery provides fans, journalists, and content creators the ability to view, download, and share images for editorial purposes – for free. The 2022 events that will be hosted on the Getty Images Media Manager gallery will include:
- LoL Esports: Mid-Season Invitational, World Championship
- VALORANT Champions Tour: VCT Masters, VALORANT Champions, VCT Game Changers
- Wild Rift Esports: Wild Rift Global Icons
