VCT EMEA 2023: Dates, Format, Week 1 Schedule, and How to Watch

Mar 14, 2023

We’re days away from the start of VCT EMEA featuring a plethora of names and faces, both old and new! KOI, Giants, and Heretics - three of Spain’s biggest and best - will be looking to create chaos within our coliseum. French representatives Karmine Corp and Team Vitality are prepared to prove their worth, alongside Turkish teams BBL and FUT Esports. These 7 will of course be looking to end the season on top, but also end the season as the best in their region.

3 teams from across the rest of EMEA join them, and 2 of these have already started the year in fashion at LOCK//IN. Eastern Europe’s Natus Vincere were knocked out in the semi-finals by tournament winners Fnatic, asserting themselves as the team to beat going into these 8 weeks of play. Team Liquid come into the season with a point to prove following their shock first round exit from LOCK//IN, and will look to hit the ground running against Team Vitality and FUT Esports in week 1. If you missed the LOCK//IN action or just want to reacquaint yourself with all 10 EMEA teams you can watch the highlights here!

Read on for all the details regarding the format, schedule, and how to watch both online and on-site at Messe Berlin Charlottenburg!

VCT EMEA 2023: Dates & format

The regular season will be kicking off on March 27th, and will run through until May 19th, with games taking place on Wednesday (1x Bo3), Thursday (2x Bo3’s), and Friday (2x Bo3’s). Week 1 will be an exception to this, featuring five days of play from Monday-Friday, with 2 Bo3’s on each day, and all teams playing twice.

All teams will have faced each other once by the time the regular season concludes on May 19th, with the top 6 teams qualifying for playoffs. Playoffs will run from May 23rd until May 28th using a modified double elimination format, which will see the top 2 teams receive a first round bye. 4 teams from EMEA will qualify for Masters Tokyo thanks to Fnatic’s victory at LOCK//IN granting the region an extra spot!

VCT EMEA 2023: Week 1 Schedule

The first week of play is absolutely stacked and will kick off with LOCK//IN winners Fnatic taking on Giants, and KOI taking on Natus Vincere. Two of Spain’s representatives will face two teams in top form already, but will they come out on top?

The rest of the week sees over half a dozen BO3’s, with Karmine Corp taking on Turkish titans BBL on Wednesday, and Fnatic also facing them on Friday. The week concludes with Karmine Corp facing Heretics in what is bound to be a fiery fight to finish on!
