Start preparing for Red Bull Home Ground, which will see top teams from across the world facing off in a unique format which focuses on map picks. Failure on your home pick will leave you with a mountain to climb that may simply be too steep. Read on to find out the rule set for each series, the teams attending, dates, and venue!
FORMAT OVERVIEW
Running from December 9-11, 2022, Red Bull Home Ground will be coming to the city of Manchester (UK) at Victoria Warehouse to debut a unique ‘Home and Away’ format. In this format, both teams will pick a ‘home ground’ to play on for the opening two maps, rewarding map knowledge and tactical awareness. If a team wins both the opening ‘home’ and ‘away’ matches, they automatically win the tie, while a stalemate will default the tie to a traditional best of five format.
North American teams are set to make their Red Bull Home Ground debut for this third iteration of the competition, facing some of the best that EMEA has to offer. Will they be sent home packing, or will they perform under the pressure and lift the trophy?
The tournament will feature eight teams, with the slots being allocated as listed below:
- EMEA Slot #1
- EMEA Slot #2
- EMEA Slot #3
- EMEA Slot #4
- NA Slot #1
- NA Slot #2
- Open EU Qualifier Slot
- Closed Turkey Qualifier Slot
Last year’s Red Bull Home Ground final saw Team Liquid facing Acend in a close four map series bringing us 108 rounds of play! This year there’s no doubt there will be even more of these neck and neck matches that will have us on the edge of our seats, as we find out who will bring the trophy home this time!
