TFT NA Regional Finals Preview

Mar 23, 2022

With the Challenger Series and final ladder snapshot completed, we’ve confirmed the 24 players who will compete in the TFT Gizmos & Gadgets NA Regional Finals! Competing for a $25,000 prize pool, four guaranteed spots in the Gizmos & Gadgets World Championship, and two spots in the International Last Chance Qualifier, these competitors are bringing their all as they head into this weekend’s competition.

Not sure who to keep an eye on? Here are just some of the key players to watch during the event!

sètsuko

There’s a reason sètsuko has been near the top of the NA ladder throughout this set. Having improved consistently since TFT Fates, sètsuko shows no signs of slowing down as he makes his second straight Regional Finals appearance. While inconsistent tournament performance has been an issue during Gizmos & Gadgets, he qualified for Regional Finals by placing fourth during the Mid-Set Finale, and some of the top TFT players and casters ranked sètsuko at the very top of their NA Power Rankings. Will he carry his dominance on the Ranked ladder through Regional Finals and make it to Worlds?

C9 k3soju

k3soju clutched out his spot in the Regional Finals in front of 15,000 fans. Previously, he struggled in tournaments throughout Gizmos & Gadgets until making his Challenger Series run, placing in the top three in four out of six games in the final lobby of the Challenger Series. k3soju is entering his third straight Regional Finals and once again seeking the chance to represent North America on the world stage.

Milk

A player is rarely both a dark horse and a favorite, but that’s the best way to describe Milk as he heads into Regional Finals. On the one hand, he’s historically one of the best TFT players in North America. After finishing second at the Reckoning NA Regional Finals, he managed to take home the bronze medal at Worlds, tied for the highest placement for any NA competitor. However, Milk hasn’t competed as much during Gizmos & Gadgets. While placing poorly in the two tournaments in which he participated, he earned his spot in Regional Finals based on strong ladder performance, and will get the chance to reestablish dominance against the best NA has to offer.

SpicyApples

No player is going into Regional Finals with more momentum on their side than SpicyApples. After some disappointing performances during Reckoning, he’s the only player to win two major NA tournaments this set, taking first place in both the Zaun and Innovation Cups. Add a second-place finish at the first Challenger Series, and you have a player that is undeniably on his game. Out of everyone competing this weekend, SpicyApples has the hot hand and will look to snowball his first Regional Finals appearance into a first appearance at Worlds.

Noobowl

With all of the excitement around k3soju’s performance during the recent Challenger Series, it’s easy to forget how dominant Noobowl’s performance was. He won four straight games in the Final Lobby of the Challenger Series, throwing down one of the best final lobby performances ever in a major TFT event. Noobowl has also been a contender at the top of the NA ladder throughout Gizmos & Gadgets, and looks primed to make a run at Regional Finals.
